Programming
THE RANDY CARROLL MORNING SHOW – Mornings, (5:30 a.m. – 10 a.m.)
Randy joined KJ-97 in 1983. Throughout the years, he has developed close relationships not only with many popular Country performers but with thousands of San Antonio listeners as well. He continues to be one of the most talented, popular and well-respected personalities in the market thanks to his off-the-wall, entertaining radio program full of good, clean, family fun! Joining Randy each morning is the newest addition to the KJ family, Micky Fox, with over 17 years’ experience in the broadcast industry. Born in Buenos Aires, she comes to San Antonio from her most recent gigs working Morning Drive at stations in Boise and Salt Lake City.
JAMIE MARTIN – Middays (10 a.m. – 3 p.m.)
Jamie is a graduate of UTSA with a BA in Communication with a concentration in Technical Writing. Although her first career choice was television, she was hired in 1998 at Metro Traffic, first producing traffic and news scripts for all the radio stations in San Antonio, then working as an on-air traffic reporter herself. Fast forward to the present, and Jamie has been in Radio on two morning shows, and now two midday shows. Not bad for a girl who was shy, hated her voice and never wanted to get into radio!
KACTUS LOU – Afternoons (3 p.m. – 8 p.m.)
Lou came to KJ-97 from Corpus Christi in 2004 after being instrumental in making K99 the dominant Country station AND the #1 station overall in that market. Listeners have followed Lou’s crazy, funny antics from the Evening shift on KJ to, now, Afternoon Drive. Lou serves as KJ’s Music Director and Assistant Program Director. He’s also the guy you’ve seen as the Arena Host at the Spurs home games as well as mixing it up on WOAI-TV’s Midnight Radio Theater on Saturday nights.
BREE WAGNER – Evenings (8 p.m. – 12 midnight)
Bree has lived in San Antonio all her life, obtaining from UTSA a BA in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations. She’s been with KJ since 2001, which, with the exception of Randy Carroll, is longer than the rest of the on-air staff (or so she likes to, uh, “mention”). Bree aspires to be the Food Network’s next Paula Dean and was instrumental in putting together both volumes of “Cooking with KJ,” gathering recipes from favorite Country artists and KJ’s own infamous personalities!
