Tony Travatto
Travatto broke into radio at age 15 in Western Michigan, begging a General Manager to let him work for free. And he did, working Saturday and Sunday mornings for a couple of years with no pay. While brushing up on Broadcast Communications at Central Michigan University, Tony begged WCFX/Mt. Pleasant for a job. Tony spent the next two years at WCFX. It was then that WFAT (The Fat One) Kalamazoo, Michigan came calling. Following 2 FAT years, it was off to Bloomington, Illinois, where WBNQ would, with Tony’s help, set ratings and revenue records for 5 years. In August 2005, Tony packed the U-Haul for San Antonio with KXXM (Mix 96.1) in his sites. With Kidd Kraddick in the Morning, it’s Tony’s goal to create exciting personality-driven radio for Top 40 radio in San Antonio. At home, Tony enjoys playing fetch with Phoebe, his yellow lab, and Faylin, the Irish Setter.
Russell Rush
Russell began his radio journey in October, 1994 while attending Aquinas High School in Fort Madison, Iowa. After receiving his degree from Saint Ambrose University in 2001, Rush journeyed to Bloomington-Normal, Illinois radio station, 101.5 WBNQ. In of 2003, “The Russell Rush Show” scored the highest ratings ever for a night show in the history of WBNQ. November, 2005 Russell received a call that would lead him to San Antonio, Texas to host afternoons on Mix 96.1, KXXM). After only six months with Mix 96.1, Russell was promoted to Assistant Program Director. Whether running for Governor, sitting in a dunk tank, living on a rooftop, flying in a World War II Bomber, cooking a turkey in the studio, or selling himself on eBay, Rush brings a refreshing, genuine touch to the radio that will make you laugh out loud. |
